The New Concrete has dried and its time to play some golf. A few of us gathered to commemorate the new concrete pads with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a bag tag challenge.
The Honors of cutting went to Melanie Hughes (our Treasure). Granted the Ribbon was caution tape and we ended up with this little itty bitty pair of scissors, but it served its purpose and we have officially opened the pads to the public. But before we handed them off to the rabble we had to get in some commemorative throws.
Special thanks to all those that rushed to defend Jennifer’s honor from the punk kid who flipped her off. People like that give disc golfers a bad name and create a bad impression to others in the park. I am glad that we have been party to improving those impressions with the county and with the park. If we keep it up things will only get better.
A funny note from the round: Will aka Chilly (or C Hilly) (#1 bag tag holder) made a very funny comment about someone’s almost good throw. “That would have been in if it had been thrown from a concrete pad”. We all found this very funny and with Will it got even funnier every time he said it.
Well we only have 8 more sets of pads to go… plus a couple in the planning.
